Camille Le Dressay
Camille Le Dressay is relatively new to ceramic art, but her work possesses a strong and developed perspective. Her sculptural pieces are in-depth studies of light and its circulation throughout her forms. They are first and foremost sculptures, but many can be lit from the inside and become functional as gentle light sources.
Camille’s sculptures are comprised of continuous arrays of volumes, forms, and shadows. The ceramic intertwines, the lines undulating and merging throughout. This creates multiple perspectives and cavities, inviting the viewer into different angles for contemplation.
Architecture serves as a heavy influence in her work, but she's also inspired by natural shapes and phenomena. The immensity of terrestrial formations, both underwater and on land, and the microscopic complexity of flora and fauna both strike her as something important to consider, preserve, and bring into relief through her practice.
