Natalia Engelhardt's artistic practice is characterized by a movement-oriented approach to hand building ceramics. In a world of extremes, her work investigates the profound beauty in subtlety. A barely there dimple, a gentle slope, or a meandering curve become the components of a quiet rhythm she renders in clay. Natalia's restraint and gestural exploration of form results in works that communicate a sense of quietude. Her glazes are subtle, but rich in nuance and texture.

Central to Natalia Engelhardt's work is her process which is defined by improvisation and spontaneity. It is because of this that each commission is a completely one-of-a-kind work, rather than an exact replica of something previously made. She begins the process without precise expectations of what a piece will eventually look like. She strives to balance meticulous craftsmanship with an embracement of the surprising and often uncontrollable aspects of working with clay.

Maintenance and care:
Cleaning of glazed ceramics is best done with soft dry or lightly damp cloth. If necessary, a natural non-abrasive cleaning agent can be used. Removing dust on a regular basis is helpful. Glazed pieces can typically be used outdoors, however please check on whether the specific glaze type you're interested in is suitable for this location.
