Marco Bellini

Overview

In appreciation for the simple elegance of wood, Marco Bellini’s beautifully sculpted forms imitate the graceful curvature of a flower stem or a blade of grass, each form communicating gentle movement and organic flow.

Marco crafts his wooden vessels using a variety of techniques, guided by the specific shapes and features of the piece of wood at hand. Surfaces of some pieces are enhanced with graphic carved patterns while others are left planar. The experience of these pieces is influenced by environmental context, differing depending on whether they stand alone or in complement to other objects. Light, shadow, and surrounding architectural elements also impact the way his work is viewed.
