Devin Wilde
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, artist and ceramicist Devin Wilde was originally trained in architecture at Stanford University before returning to his lifelong passion of sculpture.
Devin spent several years at artist residencies in ceramics and wood at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Penland School of Craft, and others before returning home to NYC to launch his ceramics practice.
In 2023, Devin founded his eponymous design studio. Work from his debut collection has been featured in the projects of AD100 and ELLE DECOR A-LIST interior designers. Select editions are also available through Lawson Fenning and Spartan Shop. In 2024, Wilde was included in the WALLPAPER* USA 400, a list of creatives shaping the American design landscape.
Referencing his backround in architecture, Devin draws inspiration from an electric array of styles; namely Art Deco, Classicism and its myriad of revival periods, and Post Modernism. As he explains, “I explore forms that simultaneously convey both ancient and distinctly modern sensibilities. The relationship between shape and shadow is key to my work. The geometric languages I develop are a careful marriage of form and function; they give structure to the forms, yes, but are primarily mechanisms for creating drama with light.”
